Aliou, This is a very nice, and somewhat inspirational picture. I challenge you (and anyone else who views this post) to come up with a short fictional story about these animals. Make like Aesop and come up with a fable! (Look up Aesop's Fables online if you are unsure of what I'm talking about...)
Students: You should post your stories right here, as a comment under Aliou's post! You may want to type it in another program, such as Word, and do a spell check before submitting it.
This is my story. I know that the character's names are really unoriginal but I hope you like it!
When the earth was created, two animals lived. They were the cats and the dogs. The cats were gifted with superior intellect and the ability to disguise themselves as anything that they wanted in case they were attacked. The dogs had unmatched strength and could run as fast as lightning. Unfortunately, the two races were enemies and if either of them befriended the opposite race, they both would get punished and sometimes get killed. Also, if a cat or dog was found on the opposite animal's territory, the leaders of both of the powerful clans would have a meeting that sometimes resulted as a war between them.
One day, a cat was found on the dog's side of the territory. The cats were alerted and Tiger, the head of the cats took some of his fellow felines to have a talk with the fearless dog warrior Spike.
"We have found one of your cats on our territory and we have her locked up in our prison," Spike said.
"Are you sure that the same dog that accused one of my cats of being found on your side of the territory wasn't on our side?" Tiger challenged.
"Is that a challenge?" Spike countered.
"Oh, lookie there, I guess it is," Tiger said. That is when all hell broke loose. Spike charged at Tiger at unimaginable speed and Tiger was surprisingly able to dodge it and alerted the rest of the cats back on his side of the territory with a walkie talkie that he made out of a coconut and a piece of metal. The rest of the cats arrived within minutes.
Meanwhile, a cat named Lola was sitting in the confines of the prison cell that she was locked in when a dog came out of the shadows.
"Hey I'm going to help you get out of here," the mysterious dog whispered as he slowly opened the cell door.
"Why are you helping me? I'm a cat and your a dog." Lola responded.
"Not all dogs are bad. Now be quiet and come with me," he said. Lola obediently followed.
"What's your name?" Lola asked.
"Zeno," he responded, "Now run faster so that we can get you out of here!"
While the battle was going on, the cat and the dog escaped... and hid... and slept... (that's the picture, sort of).
This reminds me of my cat and dog! Their names are Lulu and Roscoe. At first, Roscoe, the dog, was so big and excited, he just wanted to play with Lulu, but she was too scared of him. He'd gallop around the house chasing her. Then they started eating each other's food, and drinking each other's water, and they were best friends. They would be laying down together like that, but not on top of each other.
David, interesting story (and well written, too!) However, you failed to mention the rat that is also sitting on top of the dog. I'm sure that a story with some kind of moral can come from the fact that this image shows that a dog, a cat, and a rat can all live harmoniously!
Aliou I love this picture its sooo cute!
